Delivering Value

Treeco is a hybrid social venture that works to ensure sustainable solutions to poverty and climate change. We deliver value through:

Upfront Capital Raise

We raise the full costs of tending a tree before it is planted. By doing so, we are able to establish a pool of investible capital whose returns can be ploughed back into Treeco, shared or loaned out to farmers, or returned to investors where applicable.

Revenue from Trees

Mature trees are sold at market rate in eight years. Treeco’s model estimates competitive unit production costs and compelling revenue opportunities from tree sales at maturity.

Contractual Farming

The income that farmers receive from Treeco is not charity. Treeco co-owns the trees and contracts farmers to tend them. Treeco does, however, guarantee a sustained, basic income for our farmers.

Carbon Trading at Scale

In the long term, as Treeco achieves scale, we will be able to trade carbon credits.

Making Farming Attractive

Treeco incentivizes farmers to supplement their income by growing tree crops such as avocados and mangos. This provides alternatives to low-margin cash crops and shifts farmers from seasonal income to more predictable regular income.

Investing in the Green Economy

Treeco is an entry point into the broader green economy. Treeco’s pool of investible capital will be put to work through investments in 21st century green economic development projects across the African continent.
